Organizations, churches, schools or individuals can apply for use of City property for special events such as reunions, birthday parties, photo shoots, or weddings and other ceremonies. These locations may have capacity, time, and/or food and beverage restrictions and the hiring of security may be required as a condition of permit eligibility.
In order to have an event considered for a permit, a completed application can be faxed or dropped off. Completed applications must be received fourteen days prior to the event. Organizations hosting large scale events that require a variety of City services should contact the Office of Special Events (contact info above). Organizations hosting activities which are open to the public may have the event details and contact information published on the City's calendar through Special Events and Marketing.
The Division of Special Events works directly with the Greater Cleveland Film Commission on all commercial film, television, video, and photography projects conducted within the City of Cleveland.
The Greater Cleveland Film Commission helps facilitate the ongoing promotion and production of film, television and other related media within North East Ohio. Established in 1998, the commission has helped the local community host films including The Soloist (DreamWorks S.KG., 2009), Spider Man 3 (Sony, 2007), Against the Ropes (Cort/Madden Productions, 2004), American Splendor (Good Machine, 2003), Welcome to Collinwood (Warner Bros. Pictures, 2002), and Antwone Fisher (Fox Searchlight Pictures, 2002).
