Division of Parking Facilities Public Survey
The City’s Division of Parking Facilities has piloted a new parking meter system in selected downtown locations for ninety days each. The City will evaluate the effectiveness of the system in making downtown parking more convenient for motorists and in improving the City’s ability to manage, regulate and service parking meters.
The pilot system is made up of a total of forty-nine credit card parking meters. They are divided between two downtown locations – twenty-five meters on the south side of Erieside Ave. across from the Rock Hall of Fame & Museum and twenty-four on the south side of Chester Avenue between East 18th and East 22nd Streets. The City would like to gather information on the public’s reception to this new program.
The Division of Parking Facilities provides for construction, maintenance, and operation of all city-owned parking garages and lots throughout downtown Cleveland.
A listing of downtown public parking lots, fees, and operating hours can be found below.
Parking Tickets and Snow Bans
This Division operates an on-street parking program which enforces the City's parking codes by issuing tickets. It is also responsible for maintaining parking meters. Parking tickets can be paid online or in person at the Clerk of Courts Parking Violations Bureau.
Snow bans are issued by the City when there are large snowstorms. A “General” ban means no parking on main streets. An “All-City” ban means no parking on any city streets. The bans reduce the time it takes to restore normal traffic, as well as the amount of extra shoveling required for residents.

Cars parked at broken meters may receive tickets because ticket writers do not have the authority to determine if meters are broken.
