Firefighter Promotions

Mayor Frank G. Jackson administered the oath of office to two firefighters promoted to new supervisory positions for the Division of Fire at Cleveland City Hall in the Red Room. Mayor Jackson swore-in Lieutenant Daniel Flave who was promoted to the rank of Captain and Firefighter Samuel Livingston who was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant for the City of Cleveland Division of Fire. He was joined by the Director of Public Safety Michael McGrath, Chief of Fire Angelo Calvillo and other public safety members for the ceremony. In addition, family members and friends attended the swearing-in ceremony to share in this special occasion.  

Daniel Flave, Captain 
Daniel Flave is a graduate of Saint Edward High School. He has been with the Division of Fire since 1993 and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2012. In his 23 years of service, he has worked on Engines 26, 9 and 4; Ladder 20; and, most recently in the Assistant Chief’s Office. As Captain, he will continue to serve in the Assistant Chief’s Office. 

Samuel Livingston, Lieutenant
Samuel Livingston came to Cleveland from Silver Springs, Florida. He graduated from the Cleveland Fire Academy and has been a firefighter for the past 16 years.   Mr. Livingston has been assigned to Engines 38 and 24 as well as Rescue Squad 3 and Tactical Rescue 2. Lieutenant Livingston is a certified instructor and is being assigned to the Fire Academy.
