Mayor Jackson Swears-In New Police Supervisors

CLEVELAND – Today, Mayor Frank G. Jackson administered the Oath of Office to newly appointed police supervisors. These new supervisors included: six Patrol Officers to the rank of Sergeant and one Sergeant to the rank of Lieutenant.

Promoted from the rank of Patrol Officer to Sergeant

Sergeant of Police – Daniel D. Day

Sergeant Day was appointed to the Division of Police in October 2006 and has most recently served in the Third and Fifth Districts. Sergeant Day has earned a Letter of Appreciation and a Letter of Commendation from Director McGrath.

Sergeant of Police – Richard Delvecchio

Sergeant Delvecchio was appointed to the Division of Police in December 2001 and has most recently served in the Fourth District. Sergeant Delvecchio has earned several Letters of Commendation from Director McGrath.

Sergeant of Police – Kimberly K. Marti

Sergeant Marti was appointed to the Division of Police in May 2001 and has most recently served in the Fourth District. Sergeant Marti has earned a Letter of Appreciation, Commendation, and a Special Commendation award from Director McGrath.

Sergeant of Police – Christopher Tews

Sergeant Tews was appointed to the Division of Police in August 1997 and has most recently served in the Third and Fifth District. Sergeant Tews has earned two Letters of Appreciation from former Chief Flask and a Chief’s Commendation from former Chief McGrath.

Sergeant of Police – Ralph A. Valentino

Sergeant Valentino was appointed to the Division of Police in August 1999 and has most recently served in the First, Second, Fourth and Fifth Districts and the Gang Impact Unit. Sergeant Valentino has earned an Outstanding Unit Award, Chief’s Commendation, and Certificate of Appreciation from Chief Williams. Sergeant Valentino has also received a Distinguished Service Medal from former Chief McGrath.

Sergeant of Police – Jayson R. Young

Sergeant Young was appointed to the Division of Police in August 1994 and has most recently served in Fourth District and Domestic Violence Unit. Sergeant Young has earned a Letter of Appreciation and Letter of Commendation from former Chief Flask.

Promoted from the rank of Sergeant to Lieutenant

Lieutenant of Police - Brian J. Chetnik

Lieutenant Chetnik was appointed to the Division of Police in September 1998 and has most recently served in the Second, Third, Fourth District, and the Police Academy. Lieutenant Chetnik has earned a Special Commendation Award from Chief Edward F. Lohn and Letter of Commendation from former Chief McGrath.
