Construction Students

During a recent visit to the Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) Advanced Technology Training Center on Woodland Avenue in Cleveland, Mayor Frank G. Jackson spoke with cohorts participating in James H. Walker / Turner School of Construction Management program.

The James H. Walker Construction Management Course is a ten week, twenty session course. The course is taught by experienced construction professionals and includes education on contracting, marketing, procurement, bonding, scheduling, cost accounting, estimating, and project planning. Participants learn how to become certified with the City of Cleveland, obtain financing, bid on City contracts and prepare business plans.

Mayor Frank G. Jackson spoke about his Community Benefits Agreements Initiative which ensures that local development projects in Cleveland create direct benefits for residents and programs. By investing in programs, like the James H. Walker / Turner School of Construction Management program, it helps to foster job creation and generate economic growth in Cleveland.
