Youth Sustainability Leadership Program Supports Community Action

The City of Cleveland Mayor’s Office of Sustainability partnered with Earth Day Coalition to coordinate the Student Environmental Leadership Conference for hundreds of Greater Cleveland high school students. The conference, led by students participating in the Office of Sustainability’s Youth Sustainability Leadership Program, featured a presentation from the 2016 Sustainability Summit, themed Year of Sustainable Transportation, and several workshops highlighting Sustainable Cleveland’s 2017 theme, Year of Vibrant Green Space. Carol Thaler, Director of Administration and Outreach at Great Lakes Biomimicry, provided the keynote speech, and professionals from Holden Arboretum, Cleveland Metroparks, Let’s Move! YMCA, and the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District provided workshop support as expert facilitators.

  • Cleveland Public Power 2017 Apprenticeship Program

    CPP will welcome students and their parents on Saturday, April 1st from 10:30 to 11:30am at 1201 Lakeside Avenue where they can learn more about exciting career opportunities. Apprenticeships are available for linemen, turbine mechanics, line helper drivers, and meter installers.

  • Plankton Fund Gives Dogs Second Chances

    The Plankton Fund was created in response to the heartworm positive dogs that come into the Cleveland Animal Care and Control (CACC) that have limited options due to the cost of heartworm treatment
