How can I become a Cleveland Police officer?

You must complete these steps:

  • pass a written exam, physical agility test, and drug screening
  • undergo background, psychological and medical evaluations
  • If selected, you begin intensive training lasting 26 weeks, during which you must maintain a grade of 70% or higher

I think my car was towed by the police. What do I do now?

Contact the Cleveland Police Impound Unit at (216) 623-5079. If the police did tow your vehicle, you will be required to bring documentation and payment with you in order for your car to be released.

My vehicle was towed. How do I get it back?

The vehicle release counter is located on the 1 st Floor of the Police Headquarters at 1300 Ontario St. The owner must show a valid ID and proof of ownership of the vehicle (title and registration). There is a fee for every tow. Call 216.623.5079 for fees and additional information.

How do I obtain a Parade Permit?

Apply for a permit with the Bureau of Traffic (phone: 216.623.5188, fax: 216.623.5190) 2001 Payne Avenue. A representative will contact you to arrange pick-up of the application after approval, and will provide you with instructions to complete the process which includes coordinating with the Special Events Office, the Safety Director’s Office, and a fee of 10.00.
