Department of Finance

The following are the Finance Department's main objectives:

  • Maintain an appropriate financial base to deliver an effective level of City services
  • Collect, tax revenue and report the expenditure of public funds in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code and Codified Ordinances of Cleveland
  • Uphold a respected credit rating in the financial community and assure taxpayers that the City of Cleveland is well managed by using prudent financial management
  • Provide financial support to all City Departments.

This Department is comprised of thirteen divisions. Finance Administration supervises the activities of each of them, helping to maintain a high-level of efficiency, productivity and professionalism.

  • S&P Upgrades City of Cleveland Bond Rating

    S&P Global Ratings has revised the outlook to positive from stable and affirmed its 'A' long-term ratings on the City of Cleveland's previously issued non-tax revenue bonds, series 2010 refunding certificates of participation (Cleveland Stadium Project), and series 2010 annual appropriation bonds (Flats East Project).

  • Monthly Keycard Payments for City Parking Lots Can Now be Done Online

    Monthly Keycard payments can be paid online for parking at the Gateway East Garage, Lakefront Municipal Parking, and Willard Park Garage. There is a convenience fee associated. 

  • MBE/FBE/Small Business Open Houses

    On the first Tuesday of every month at City Hall, Room 128 from 10am to Noon, the Division of Purchasing hosts Open Houses for minority owned, female owned, and small businesses to educate attendees on competing for City business. Participants meet one-on-one with buyers assigned to purchase their type of commodities and meet with representatives from the Office of Equal Opportunity. Registration is not required. NOTE: Due to the July 4th Holiday, the July Open House will be held on Tuesday, July 11th from 10:00 am until Noon.
