Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Workforce Development Board Opens New Ohio Means Jobs Center
Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish joined Micki Tubbs, Chair of the Cleveland|Cuyahoga Workforce Development Board, Grace Kilbane, Executive Director of OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County (OMJ|CC), staff and committee members to celebrate the grand opening of the OMJ|CC Job Center.
The newly remodeled 30,000 square-foot facility will help individual jobs seekers as well as local businesses in need of skilled workers. Its new downtown location provides a professional, welcoming environment for customers with plenty of free parking at a significant cost savings over the previous location. It also houses the Youth and Young Adult Resource Center specializing in customers ages 14-24. -More

Current openings and Civil Service Tests
Drug testing and physical examinations are required prior to employment.
According to City Charter of the City of Cleveland, positions are subject to Civil Service testing. To be appointed as a regular employee, a Civil Service examination must be passed. Those who have not taken a Civil Service test prior to employment may have to compete against others for their classification, and will have to score high enough to retain their positions. Employees who do not obtain a high enough rank may be subject to demotion or termination.
