Work on West 117th Street to West Boulevard Begins Monday, June 4, 2018

CLEVELAND – On June 4, 2018, the City will begin street improvements through the Madison Avenue Rehabilitation Project from West 117th Street to West Boulevard.  Phase IA of the project will include sewer installation from West 115th  Street to West 112th Street and will require the full closure of the roadway in this area.

A detour route will be implemented utilizing West 112th Street, Franklin Boulevard, and West 117th Street. The traffic pattern from West Boulevard to West 112th Street will remain unchanged in this phase of construction. Access to all residential and commercial properties will be maintained.  Electronic message boards are in place on either end of the project informing the public of the impending construction work. Phase IA work is estimated to complete in August 2018.

The Madison Avenue Rehabilitation Project limits are approximately 4,000 feet from West 117th Street to West Boulevard. The improvements include new pavement, drainage, asphalt resurfacing, and installation of Americans with Disabilities Act compliant ramps, curbs, sidewalks, new pavement markings, traffic and pedestrian crossing signal upgrades. The work will take place during daytime hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Should there be any questions, please contact the City of Cleveland Chief Inspector, Traci Hartnett Mercado at 216-857-5447.

Editor’s Note: Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. All travelers are urged to use caution in construction zones. Public safety and the safety of workers is a top priority.
