Expect additional traffic notices as improvements continue

CLEVELAND – On March 11, 2019, the City of Cleveland will begin Phase II of the Madison Avenue Rehabilitation Project from West 117th Street to West Boulevard.  Phase II of the project will include all roadway work items on the eastbound, south side of the roadway from West 117th Street to West Boulevard. Eastbound traffic will be maintained. Westbound traffic will be detoured north onto West Boulevard, west onto Detroit Avenue, and south onto West 117 Street. Access to all residential, commercial, and institutions will be maintained. Phase II work is estimated to complete in May 2019.

Phase III, the final phase of construction, will include all roadway work items on the westbound north side of the roadway from West 117th Street to West Boulevard.  Phase III is scheduled for completion in July 2019.

The Madison Avenue Rehabilitation Project limits are approximately 4,000 feet from West 117th Street to West Boulevard. The improvements include new pavement, drainage, asphalt resurfacing, and installation of Americans with Disabilities Act compliant ramps, curbs, sidewalks, new pavement markings, traffic and pedestrian crossing signal upgrades. The work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
